We are so happy that you are interested in volunteering at New Life Community Church! Saved people serve people and there is an indescribable joy that is found when we serve Jesus by serving others! We believe that it takes a team of people to do ministry and each role is very important.
Below are the values & core expectations we have for anyone serving in any ministry at New Life. In addition, there are some expectations unique to your specific area of service. We can’t wait to see what God does through you!
8 VALUES:
Jesus is our Message — Our purpose is to help people know Jesus and His Word. It’s all about Jesus.
Worship is our Passion — Everything we do is for the glory of God. How we live our lives is worship. We are passionate about His presence from our worship to our service, we do it with the Holy Spirit’s power.
People are our Priority — We love all people. All people are loved by God. We go to great lengths to reach people far from God.
Honor is our Calling — We show the love of God to people in the way we honor one another. We prefer one another, believe the best, forgive, submit to leadership, and care for and encourage those around us.
Excellence is our Aim — We give our best. Excellence honors God and inspires people. We are on time, engaged, and prepared. We do nothing halfway.
Generosity is our Privilege — We choose to be generous with our time, talent, and treasure because of God’s generosity. We go first in our giving because it’s an honor to give back to Him.
Serving is our Identity — Serving is not just what we do it’s who we are. Every leader is a servant first. We do church as a team. Roles may be different, but they are all important. We tie everything to a soul.
Thankfulness is our Attitude — We choose to be grateful. Thankful people aren’t complainers. We can find God’s goodness in everything.
3 COMMITMENTS:
1. COMMITMENT TO CHRIST -
The HEART: We are committed followers of Christ. We love Jesus and want to honor Him. The HABITS:
- Daily Devotions
- Tithing (the tithe is 10% of your gross income and an offering is a gift above and beyond the tithe.)
- Prayer & Fasting - (Fasting is giving up something physical to heighten the awareness of the spiritual.)
- Is not involved in the non-biblical habits and hang-ups of our culture.
- Refrain from alcohol, drugs, smoking (marijuana, cigars, etc.)
- Harmful dating relationships of any kind including:
- Living with/sleeping with someone you are not married to.
- Dating a nonbeliever
- Same-sex relationship
- Represents Christ outside of the church and with their social media presence.
2. COMMITMENT TO HIS CHURCH - The HEART: We love His Church.
The HABITS:
- Participating (attend church every Sunday possible as well as 1st Wednesday and special services/events)
- Learning (T4L, Life Groups, etc.)
- Flexible, teachable, and humble
- Unity (Romans 12:18)
3. COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY -
The HEART: We Love People. The HABITS:
- Representing Christ in words and actions outside of the building
- Inviting friends and family to church
- Expressing God's love to people you interact with in the community
- Missions - Sharing God’s love with others
